High Composite Performance and Reduced Concrete Usage

Here is a closeup look at MegaSPAN, a deep steel deck pan that bonds with concrete and steel rebar to create composite action. This composite technology allows the system to reach long spans up to 30’ – 0” economically. The system also serves as a working platform and formwork during construction, eliminating the need for traditional formwork and shortening construction time.

Slab thickness is typically governed by fire requirements and then load requirements will dictate.
Increasing deck thicknesses will reduce shoring requirements, especially in the longer spans where we can typically remove 1 line of shoring by increasing the deck gauge.
